National Bike to Work Day 2020
On September 22, 2020, NHCAT celebrated essential workers who bike to work amidst the pandemic. NHCAT set up a table with refreshments at the State Street Train Station and was joined by Mayor Elicker and other attendees who enjoyed the food and opportunity to network.
The 3rd Annual Bicycle Friendly America Celebration
On February 23, 2020, NHCAT held the 3rd Annual Bicycle Friendly America Celebration at ConnCat. This celebrated all Bicycle Friendly Businesses, Schools, and Cities. Ken Podziba, President & CEO of Bike NY & Chair of the Board of Directors of the League of American Bicyclists, was a guest speaker at the event.
Ciclovias Presentation with Charles Brown
On November 26, 2019, NHCAT held a presentation on Ciclovias at mActivity with guest speaker Charles Brown, the Keynote Lunch Speaker for the 2019 Multimodal & Transit Summit.
Adventure Cycling Association
On February 24, 2019, NHCAT hosted Ginny Sullivan, Director of Travel Initiatives from the HQ of Adventure Cycling Association in Missoula, MT. Over 60 adventure cyclists from across Connecticut came and met with Ginny as she shared news, resources and stories on the joys and benefits of bicycle travel. Held at ConnCat, a high point was the presentation of the gold level Bicycle Friendly Business award to the Connecticut Mental Health Center.
The 2nd Annual Bicycle Friendly America Celebration
On November 10, 2018, NHCAT held the 2nd Annual Bicycle Friendly America celebration with the City of New Haven and bike and walk organizations and advocates. During the festitivites, at the Canal Dock Boathouse, NHCAT Board member David Berkowitz awarded Mayor Harp the silver award as a Bicycle Friendly Community.
